Ta Vie 旅

“Ta Vie 旅” has a double meaning. In French, it means “Your Life”; in Japanese, it means “Journey”. When connoissuers cross paths with Ta Vie 旅, they start a culinary journey to explore the best-quality of seasonal produce across Asia with refined modern French cooking techniques, all orchestraed by Head Chef, Hideaki Sato. Three simple words, “Pure, Simple and Seasonal”, sum up the character of the cuisine – accentuating the purity and authentic taste through simple yet precise cooking and presentation, allowing the ingredients to shine while food lovers can enjoy the best of its flavour.

MEET OUR CHEF

Hideaki Sato – Head Chef | Co-owner

Born in Japan’s Nagano prefecture in 1976, Sato began his culinary journey with French cuisine. Yet after over 10 years in the French kitchen, he found himself increasingly drawn towards his native Japanese and decided to make a move. The change in direction landed him at Tokyo’s 3-Michelin-starred restaurant Nihonryori Ryugin, where he worked for 3 years under the careful guidance of Chef Seiji Yamamoto. In June 2012, Sato was chosen to head Hong Kong’s Tenku Ryugin, the first Ryugin restaurant outside of Tokyo.

Under Sato’s management for 6 months, Tenku Ryugin earned not only critical acclaim, but also 2 Michelin stars. In 2014, the restaurant made it to the coveted San Pellegrino Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants List.

In 2015, Sato opened “Ta Vie旅” and he has been showcasing his unique cuisine based on his two culinary backgrounds, Japanese cuisine and French cuisine, and featuring Asia ingredients. “Ta Vie旅” has been awarded Michelin star since 2015 and 2 Michelin stars for 3 consecutive years since 2016. “Ta Vie旅” also has been on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list for 4 consecutive years since 2016.
